Neck ties are getting a lot of attention today. They keep getting popular, thanks to the celebrities sporting them. We often see on televisions and billboards, models and actors wearing men’s ties and we think they are cool so we follow the trend. That’s just how it is.
The media plays an important role in our lives. The advertisements we see, most often than not, affect our perceptions. They can influence us at one point or another. Take for instance, we see skinny models and we all want to lose weight. We see the new fashion trend and we want to wear them too. We see a certain food being advertised and we want to try it. And the list goes on.
I’m not saying that it’s bad. There’s actually nothing wrong with it. Just learn to take them in moderation and not get too affected. Always remember that the media is there to open your eyes, not to run your life. So, don’t get too carried away.
Men’s ties are fashionable. A lot of people are wearing them not only in formal events but also in daily casual wear. There are people who can actually pull that look off. They have their own sense of style and they want to stand out.
Fashion designers have somehow learned to make use of men’s ties in their fashion collection. They use it to add a bit of individuality to the outfits they create. They want people to notice that men’s ties are simple pieces of cloth that can add a touch of flair if used properly.
Men’s ties come in a wide variety of sizes, colours and designs. There’s a lot to choose from. You can pick whatever you think suits you best. Be it the simple monochromatic ones or the bold and colourful patterns that depicts your inner self.

Occasions Where Bow Ties are Commonly Worn
Bow ties are must-have pieces in men’s wardrobe for they are perfect choices for formal occasions to wear. Apparently, they are not as common as neckties but they are equally valuable in presenting a formal look in any formal event such as black tie events.
Bow ties aren’t outmoded at all as they are oftentimes associated with older men. They might have been in the trend for quite some time but they continue to exist as fashion elements for any attire.
Below are certain occasions where bow ties are commonly worn:
Formal Party
Formal suits such as white pocket squares and black tuxes are best presented if bow ties are used. They are traditional black bow ties with sophistication sharpened by time. Bow ties in white are also acceptable in black tie events celebrated during day time and summer days.
Semi-Formal Party
Black bow ties are also safe to use in semi-formal parties but be wary enough to consider that you might be the only one wearing such color of bow tie. Wear bow ties in lighter shade instead if you do not want to be tag as overdressed. Go for light blue, light pink, lilac and silver bow ties. They are perfect for a semi-formal party held on daytime. Neckties are also option if you are not confident of wearing such colors of bow ties. Choose ties in solid satin finish.
Weddings
Bow ties in weddings are usually matched in the occasion’s motif. The best way to deal with this is to ask ahead about the dress code. Others though are indicated in the invitation. If in case not stated in the invitation be resourceful enough to inquire so you will not to look outplaced in the crowd.
Work
Obviously, this is not the appropriate place for bow ties. Although older men are still considering wearing them at work they still look great on them. Perhaps because of the tradition that aged men are usually the ones wearing bow ties. If you are younger be safe not to wear them at work unless required.
